On September 10, India will be the sixth country to launch the first INS Dhruv nuclear missile tracking ship.

The first India-led satellite and ballistic missile tracking ship Dhruv can be inducted into the Navy by Ajit Doval National security advisor from Visakhapatnam on 10 September. DRDO and NTRO, Hindustan Shipyard, established collaboratively by the INS, National Engineering and Technical Research Organization (NTRO) Dhruv can detect submarines from the adversary.

In the British Hindustan Times the presidency is said to be present at the launching event together with key officials of DRDO and Navy. Navy chief admiral Karambir Singh and NTRO president Anil Dasmana would be there. The nuclear missile tracking ship is operated by Indian Navy officers who command the Strategic Forces (SFC). These ships are operated by France, the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia and China alone.

The ship was held in an empty harbour, during the early days of construction, in order to keep the enemy satellites and spy missions out of sight. It is also fitted with an AESA radar that may aid India in collecting not just precise information on the missile range and capabilities of the adversary countries, it will also track its strategic missiles. The AESA radar is also available. It might prove quite important to us to change the game.

It could not be a better moment to start, as Indian-China ties are not favourable. Not just in East Ladakh, but also in the Indian Ocean area, China emerges as a danger. The strength of the Indian Navy manifold would be increased in INS Dhruv. The Navy is assisted to create an attack strategy with great precision.

It will help the Indian Navy to monitor the passage to Malacca, Sunda, Lombok, Ombai and the Wetar Straits from the Gulf of Aden into the South China Sea. The monitoring system will need 14 MW of electricity, which would be built by INS Dhruv. The cost is around Rs 725 crore for a ship carrying 15,000 tonnes.
