  •   In September 2012, the Taliban carried out attacks in Kabul that included NATO camps.
  •   In 2013, Hakimullah Masood, a senior Taliban leader, was killed in a US drone strike.
  • In August 2015, the Taliban announced Mullah Mansoor as its new leader.
  • Mulla Mansoor was also killed in a US drone strike in May ,2016.
  • After May 2016, the organization's work was handed over to Maulvi Hibtullah Akhunjada. He still has the leadership of the Taliban.
  • Between 2001 and 2009, more than 111,000 Afghans were killed.
  • More than 2,300 U.S. Army soldiers sacrificed their lives.
  • More than 641,000 Afghan police and soldiers were killed.
