वर्ष 2009 में बर्लिन में हुई विश्व एथलेटिक्स चैम्पियनशिप में उसैन बोल्ट (Usain Bolt) ने 100 M एवं 200 M की रेस में स्वयं का ही विश्व रिकॉर्ड तोड़कर तथा 9.50 एवं 19.19 सेकण्ड्स का नया रिकॉर्ड बनाकर, विश्व को चौंका दिया।
